Shweta Nanda says that Navya Naveli manages expenses with an Excel spreadsheet.

Shweta Bachchan recently made headlines for participating in her daughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s popular podcast ‘What the Hell Navya’ along with her mother and actor Jaya Bachchan. In a recent episode of the podcast, the popular columnist spoke about the early days of her marriage, the financial struggles, and the importance of financial independence for women. Shweta made a big disclosure in which she told that she used to work as a kindergarten teacher in a school on a salary of 3000 rupees per month.
She said, ‘I was borrowing money (from brother Abhishek Bachchan) to buy food not only in college but also in school. When you’re in boarding school, it’s (food) the number one item you can’t live without… I was never educated about all this (finance management). She continued, “Then when I got married and was in Delhi. , I got a job as an assistant teacher in a kindergarten, Learning Tree. There I got salary, I think it was 3000 rupees per month. I put it in the bank…”
Shweta then praised her daughter Navya for managing her finances and maintaining Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Shweta further added that she doesn’t manage her finances and never wants Navya to be like her. “Even now, in our house, Navya manages the money (daily expenses). Even I look at it (the financial position of the family listed on the excel sheet)… my ignorance about all things has not come to you (Navya)…
Talking about her married life, Shweta tied the knot with Escorts group businessman Nikhil Nanda on February 16, 1997. Shweta and Nikhil are parents to two children- Navya and Agastya Nanda.
Meanwhile, Navya’s podcast started streaming from September 24. It airs every Saturday on all major audio streaming platforms.
