Sidhipet Collector Venkatarama Reddy resigns, ready to join TRS; Chances of getting MLC post

Taking an important step, Sidhipet Collector Venkatarama Reddy resigned from his post on Monday. He is soon set to join the TRS party in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He is understood to have been offered the MLC post by the TRS leadership. The government immediately agreed to his resignation and issued relevant orders.

Venkatarama Reddy has opted for voluntary retirement and sent a letter to Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar.

It can be said here that he had landed in controversies when he asked the farmers against the cultivation of paddy as per the instructions of the government.

Later, Venkatarama Reddy told presspersons that he resigned from the post to work with the KCR government. He praised the government for coming up with welfare schemes as the whole country is watching. He said that people will talk about plans for the next 100 years.

Reddy expressed hope that he hopes to get a call from the Chief Minister and be a part of the development of the state. “I will work as per the directions of the Chief Minister for the welfare of the people and development of the state,” he said.
