Sidhu Musewala’s father taunts Bhagwant Mann, “If law and order is so good…”

He further accused the Mann government of keeping the gangsters of the state ‘safe’.

Mansa, Punjab:

Balkaur Singh, father of late Punjabi rapper Sidhu Musewala, on Sunday hit out at the Punjab government over the prevailing law and order situation in the state and questioned why Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had to deploy 40 security escorts for his wife, if so how good.

“If law and order was so good in Punjab, why did CM Bhagwant Mann depute 40 security escorts for his wife?” Balkaur Singh said in Mansa.

He further accused the Mann government of keeping the gangsters of the state ‘safe’.

“I will visit the Thar area where Sidhu was killed with his photograph so that the government feels ashamed of the present situation,” Singh said.

Sidhu Musewala, 28, was shot dead in Mansa on May 29, a day after the state government downgraded his security cover.

The Punjabi singer was shot at point blank range and was declared brought dead on being taken to Mansa Civil Hospital.

The assailants fired more than 30 rounds at Moosewala, who was found lying on the driver’s seat by the locals.

The investigation suggested that Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind of the daylight murder. His close aide Goldie Brar, who is said to be based in Canada, was also under investigation in the matter. The police had issued a Red Corner Notice against Brar through Interpol.

The incident took place two days after the Punjab Police withdrew the security cover of 424 people, including Moosewala.

Musewala had contested the last assembly election from Mansa on a Congress ticket, but lost to AAP’s Vijay Singla.

On 23 November, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Bishnoi in a case related to an alleged conspiracy to recruit youths to carry out terror attacks in Delhi and other parts of the country.
