Sikhs: India asks Pakistan to punish those who killed 2 Sikh businessmen – Times of India

New Delhi: India asked on Sunday Pakistan To honestly investigate the murder of two Sikh Take strict action against the businessman of North-Western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and those responsible for the “reprehensible” incident.
foreign Ministry Spokesman Arindam Bagchi Said that India has lodged a strong protest with Pakistan over its relentless “targeting” of members of the minority community in that country.
Bagchi said India expects the Pakistan government to take care of the safety, security and well-being of its minority communities.
Two Sikh businessmen – Saljit Singh (42) and Ranjeet Singh (38) – On Sunday, unidentified gunmen shot dead in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said, “We have seen reports of two Sikh businessmen being brutally murdered by unidentified armed men. Peshawar, Sadly, this is not the first such case or a rare occurrence,” said Bagchi.
He said that “serious concern” has been expressed by various sections of the Indian civil society and the Sikh community over this shocking and condemnable incident.
“We have lodged our strong protest with the Government of Pakistan over the continuous targeting of members of the minority community in Pakistan,” Bagchi said.
“We call upon the concerned authorities to investigate the matter honestly and take strict action against those responsible for this condemnable incident,” he said.
According to the police, both the traders died on the spot in the attack by two bike-borne assailants in the morning.
“We expect that the Government of Pakistan, in the discharge of its responsibilities, will take care of the safety, security and well-being of its minority communities,” the spokesman said.
Bagchi was responding to media queries on the killing of two Sikh traders.
