Simple One electric scooter gets motor upgrade: Battery, range, features explained – Times of India

Bengaluru based electric two wheeler manufacturer Easy Energy on Tuesday unveiled an upgraded motor for its flagship scooter, the Simple One, which will be delivered to customers from June. The company claims that it has received more than 30,000 pre-bookings of the e-scooter so far. The company had launched ‘Simple’ OneEarlier on August 15 last year, the price of the e-scooter was Rs 1.09 lakh.
The company says that the newly upgraded motor further enhances the performance of the electric scooter by offering better efficiency and thermal management. This newly unveiled motor is an upgrade over the already existing high-spec motor that produces 72 Nm of torque. It is powered by a 4.8 kWh battery pack that is portable and weighs 7 kg, while promising a real-world range of 203 km in Eco mode and 236 km in ‘ideal’ conditions. It takes 2.75 hours to charge a certain portion of the battery from 0 to 80 percent with a home charger.
The company says that the high level of vertical integration allows the electric scooter to achieve an improved efficiency of 96%, allowing users to enjoy the ride without worrying about range. The advanced motor has been developed from the ground up and is also patented.
The Ordinary is powered by an 8.5 kW motor that delivers a claimed maximum torque of 72Nm. This motor gives the scooter a claimed 0-40kph time of 2.85 seconds and a top speed of 105 kmph. The electric scooter has four riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic.
The Simple One is offered in four color options and comes with TFT touchscreen instrument screen with on-the-go navigation, Bluetooth and 4G connectivity, geo-fencing, OTA updates, remote telemetry, TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system), 30 smart features like Comes with features. liters of boot space, vehicle tracking, vacation mode and the system also lets you know about the nearest fast charger location.
Simple Energy says it is targeting a capacity of 12.5 million units annually – making it the world’s largest two-wheeler producer.
The company also said that there are additional upgrades and surprises, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
