Sindhi food lovers must visit Coriander, Trishul for delicious food (by 17th May)

Indian cuisine is a melting pot of different cultures which is represented by their distinctive regional and native cuisines. And it really makes Indian food come alive with each and every dish worth its salt. Being a foodie, I love trying different food items from different cultures and I got a chance to fulfill my desire of having authentic Sindhi food at Cilantro, Trident Hotel, Gurugram. This luxurious restaurant has a limited period Sindhi food festival till May 17, 2022. And don’t miss it.

Chef Bharat Khemani, a Sindhi, presents a delectable menu, each dish brimming with authentic Sindhi flavour. There is something for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, and the traditional thali comes with some really tempting flavours. One look at the platter made me feel hungry and I couldn’t wait to dig in. The thali contained most of the popular Sindhi dishes that I had heard about and always wanted to try.

My first choice, of course, was the dal pakwan, and it was an absolute delight. The lentil mixture turns out perfect on a crunchy flatbread with a light but interesting mix of flavors and textures. Apart from this, my big non-veg thali includes sanna pakora (spinach and onion pakoras), sindhi tewan (lamb curry), machhi basar (grilled fish with onion-tomato mixture), Sindhi kadhi and much more, Sindhi kali With chilli and moong. Dal Koki.

While I would still prefer regular Punjabi style kadhi over Sindhi kadhi, Machhi Basar, Sindhi Teewan and Sai Bhaji won my heart. Also, the pairing of Bhuga Chanwar with Aloo Jaa Tuk was so delicious that it left me wanting more.

Sindhi sweets made the perfect end to my mind-blowing meal – Karachi Halwa and Khorak are a must-try.
