Single window system to promote ‘ease of doing biz’ – Times of India

New Delhi: Recently launched National Single Window System A top government official said the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ would prove to be the biggest step for investors and businesses in the country. The system eliminates filing of multiple applications in ministries and state government departments, and also allows automatic renewal.
“This is the first time that 18 states have come to the board. Once you have filed an application along with the required documents, you do not need to go to any office. The system is designed to guide and help the applicants in a very simple manner,” said the outgoing DPIIT Secretary, Giridhar Armane. These states include answer State, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andra Pradesh, Telangana And Punjab. So far 32 ministries and central government departments have joined the platform.
The website of the Single Window System shows that till Sunday, 542 applications were cleared by central government departments.
Applicants have to register to get login and password. Since the objective of this system is to streamline the feeding of information, processing of applications, the information is captured in one go and documents can be stored at one place. “For every application, there is a fixed time period for processing. Since some applications may require a security clearance, the time period for processing varies. It is a single online interface for entrepreneurs or investors to identify, implement and track registrations and approvals,” Aramane said.
