Six arrested for trying to rob petrol bunk

Baluchetti Chatram police on Monday arrested six persons, who allegedly attacked a petrol bunk employee with a knife and tried to rob a case of money from him.

On Sunday, when the gang entered the petrol pump near Baluchetti Chatram, they saw that all the employees were sleeping inside the office. The gang called the employees under the guise of asking for the address. One of the employees, Manikandan, came out of the office and was answering his questions when two others started attacking Mr. Manikandan with a knife.

The gang tried to snatch the bag along with the money and escaped after being chased by the employees. Mr Manikandan, who was injured, was taken to the hospital and the police were informed.

The police registered a case and arrested all the six people on Monday evening with the help of CCTV camera footage.

The accused have been identified as Satish, 23, Emmanuel, 18, Balajiraja, 19, Praveen, 18, Jagan Raj, 20 and Mathiazhagan, 18.
