Six arrested in fish seller’s murder case

The Tambaram police arrested six people involved in the murder of fish seller D. Parthiban at Mannivakkam on Tuesday evening.

The fish seller was killed by a gang led by Prashant to avenge the death of his brother Praveen Kumar in Otteri on Monday.

A senior official said that Commissioner A.K. The six accused were caught after Amalraj formed three special police teams. Based on a tip-off about the accused persons moving in a car, police teams set up a checkpost on Walajabad-Vandalur road and nabbed the criminals. The six accused have been identified as Prashant, Ajay, Pradeep, Dinesh, Dhanushkumar and Praveen.

All the six accused were produced before the judicial magistrate and sent to jail.
