The all-new Skoda Slavia is all set to hit the Indian roads on 28 February and is one of the most anticipated launches from the house of Skoda Auto India. Ahead of the launch, Skoda has also announced a four-year maintenance package for the new Slavia sedan priced at Rs 24,999. The carmaker has also shared that the total cost of ownership with the package will be just 0.46 paise per km which will include cost of spare parts, cost of engine oil and cost of labour.

Skoda will first launch the Slavia 1.0-litre TSI variant on February 28, 2022, while the 1.5-litre TSI variant will go on sale on March 3 this year. The test drives and deliveries will start on the respective dates for both the variants. Skoda Slavia is the automaker’s second offering under the India 2.0 strategy and is based on the MQB A0 IN platform. The model shares its underpinnings with the Kushak which includes engine and transmission options as well as a basket of features.

Skoda Auto India has already started production of the Skoda Slavia range. It will be manufactured at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s plant in Chakan, Maharashtra and the car will come with 95 per cent localisation. Skoda says that the Slavia has been developed keeping in mind the Indian market. The Slavia will be offered in three variants – Active, Ambition and Style, and will come with two engine options – a 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder engine and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI unit. The first makes 113 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque, and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic torque converter. The larger 1.5-litre motor makes 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 7-speed DSG automatic unit. The 1.0-litre is expected to be offered across all three variants, while the 1.5 TSI will only come with the Style trim.
