Skoda’s all-new compact sedan, the Slavia has crossed the impressive milestone of 10,000 bookings within a month of its launch. Bookings for the Slavia opened on November 18, the day of its global debut, and the Czech automaker impressed customers with ‘simply smart’ features in the sedan. The car replaced the outgoing koda Rapid, and has grown in size, increasing dimensions on almost all fronts.

Skoda The car has been launched in India in two engine options, a 1.0-litre TSI petrol, and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol unit, with no diesel mill. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, and automatic gearbox as an option. While the 1.0-litre petrol unit gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic as an option, the bigger and more powerful 1.5-litre petrol comes with a 7-speed DSG automatic. The 1.5-litre unit also features cylinder deactivation technology, a first in its class, which aims to enhance fuel efficiency under light loads.
