Skoda Kushak SUV exports for left-hand drive model starts from India – Times of India

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India today announced the commencement of the export program with the commencement of shipments of Made-in-India Skoda. kushaki SUV LHD (left-hand drive). Earlier this year, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India began exporting India 2.0 cars with the Volkswagen Taigun SUV, followed by the Volkswagen Vertus sedan in September.
The company began its export program in 2011 with 6,256 units of the India-made Volkswagen Vento for the South African market. The company also said that the company’s export market continues to grow to create the group’s ‘Made-in-India’ presence in South America, Central America, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, AGCC countries and 44 countries. Caribbean region.
The company said it has already exported around 5.5 lakh cars from India and Mexico is the largest export market for SAVWIPL, followed by South Africa and Central American countries (Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina) as well as ASEAN countries. Huh.
Skoda Kushaq was launched in June 2021 as a part of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s India 2.0 strategy, and the mid-size SUV has certainly helped the project succeed with its sales numbers.
Skoda recently introduced a few new features to the Kushaq to mark its first anniversary. The top-spec styling variant of the SUV now gets the same 8-inch virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster as the Monte Carlo variant. Skoda has also offered a tire pressure monitoring system as standard, while the 1.0-litre TSI variant now gets an idle-engine stop-start as well.
While the SUV was originally offered with a 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Skoda now offers the Kushk with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired smartphone connectivity. The 10-inch infotainment unit is now only offered with the Monte Carlo variant.
Apart from this, the company has also introduced a new variant – Style NSR, which sits between Ambition and Style variant. Available with a 1.0-litre TSI engine, the Style NSR is priced at Rs 15.09 lakh, and can only be had with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Kushak price has now gone up from Rs 11.29 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The Skoda SUV is currently pitted against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Nissan Kicks as well as its cousin, the Volkswagen Taigun in the Indian market.
