Skoda Salvia, Volkswagen Virtus Bag 5-Star Safety Rating in Global NCAP Crash Test

After securing 5-star crash test ratings for the Volkswagen Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq, the Germans now have more bragging rights. Both got their sedans tested on Global NCAP’s test bed, and they came out with a solid 5-star crash test rating. The cars in discussion here are the Volkswagen Virtus and the Skoda Slavia, and both have received a full 5-star GNCAP rating, according to the organisation’s new testing regime. The focus of the group’s India 2.0 project is to manufacture cars in India that meet European quality standards and cater to both domestic and overseas markets.

Global NCAP revised its crash test protocol to evaluate frontal and side impact safety for all tested models. Vehicles that receive the highest star rating also undergo evaluation for electronic stability control (ESC), pedestrian protection and side impact pole protection.

In their most basic safety specification, with ESC included as standard, both the Škoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus demonstrated a strong structure in a frontal impact and provided adequate protection for adult occupants with excellent protection, side Provided moderate to excellent protection in impact scenarios. In addition, the child occupants received full protection during both front and side impacts, highlighting the high safety standards maintained by Global NCAP.

These include three-point seatbelts for all seats including middle rear, adjustable headrests for all passengers, seat belt warning, up to six airbags (driver, front passenger, 2 curtain, driver side, front passenger side), child locks, ISOFIX .
