Skoda is set to give the Slavia an update in the coming weeks. From a few dealers we spoke to, Skoda is all set to replace the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the higher variants of the Slavia. The 10-inch head unit is set to be replaced by a smaller 8.0-inch unit to be sourced from Panasonic. While we haven’t heard back from Skoda officially, the update could be due to the semi-conductor shortage affecting the automotive industry.

Additionally, some reports suggest that the top variant is also expected to miss out on wireless charging and it remains to be seen whether the new unit will support wireless smartphone connectivity. Apart from the equipment update, the Slavia is set to receive its first price hike next month, which is expected to amount to Rs 50,000. The Slavia was launched in India at introductory prices, with the hike ending the introductory price period.
