Skoda Slavia India launch date confirmed

Skoda Auto India has announced the launch date of the upcoming slavia Compact sedans and models will arrive early this month. Skoda will first launch the Slavia 1.0-litre TSI variant on February 28, 2022, while the 1.5-litre TSI variant will go on sale on March 3 this year. The test drives and deliveries will start on the respective dates for both the variants. The Skoda Slavia will replace the Rapid in the company’s line-up and we know almost everything about it except the prices.

Zac Hollis, Director – Skoda Auto India confirmed the development in a tweet. “Despite the challenges of the industry, I am happy to share that we are working towards our committed timelines for the launch of both 1.0L and 1.5L Skoda Slavia,” he wrote.

Skoda started production of the new Slavia at its Chakan facility last month and the model is already on showroom floors across India. Slavia is the automaker’s second offering under the India 2.0 strategy and is based on the MQB A0 IN platform. The model shares its underpinnings with the Kushak which includes engine and transmission options as well as a basket of features. The Slavia’s design language mimics that of Skoda’s larger sedans, including the Octavia and Superb.

Prices will be significant on the Skoda Slavia which will be the most affordable offering from the brand in India. The compact sedan will replace the Rapid in the company’s line-up. The new Slavia will replace the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna Honda City as well as the Vento from Volkswagen coming later in the year.
