Government employee Rahul Bhat, who was shot The last rites were performed by terrorists inside his office in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday amid protests by members of the Kashmiri Pandit community.

His brother Sunny lit the pyre at the Buntalab crematorium as chants of “Long live Rahul Bhat” rented the air.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits gathered at Bhat’s house in Jammu for the last rites.
Members of the community, including Rahul Bhat’s family, accused the BJP-led government at the Center of turning young Kashmiri Hindus into “cannon fodder” in the name of rehabilitating the community.
He also said that the incident has shattered his dream of permanently settling in the valley.
Nath Bhat, a relative of Rahul Bhat, said, “You (BJP) have planned to kill young Kashmiri Pandits in the name of giving them jobs and their rehabilitation.”
He said such people are “sitting” for terrorists who are using them for “target practice”.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina and other party leaders, who attended the funeral, faced anger from community members as they raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the saffron party. Put it on

On Thursday, Rahul Bhat’s father Bita Bhat had demanded an inquiry into the incident.
Mr. Bita Bhat said at her Durga Nagar residence, “An inquiry should be ordered to identify all those who are involved in his ruthless murder.”
“I was in a hospital with my ailing brother when a family friend from Kashmir called and informed me about the incident. I tried to contact the Budgam Deputy Commissioner and the police officials concerned, but my call remained unanswered. ,” the father told media persons, trying to show a brave face and hold back his emotions.
He said it was the responsibility of the Deputy Commissioner to at least inform the family as his employee was murdered inside his office room in broad daylight.
“If a person is shot inside his office, no one is safe in the Valley… When this has happened it is a vivid example of the failure of the government. Those serving there (among Kashmiri Pandits) are doing this at their own risk as the government has failed to provide them security.
With tears rolling down her cheeks, Rahul Bhat’s mother Babli asks the government to “take back” her son.
A relative of Rahul Bhat wept in front of the media.
