National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said the delimitation process was a fanfare to cover up a vague agenda of work and no amount can change the ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the entire delimitation exercise has been blind to the universally accepted and prevailing norms and principles regarding electoral representation.
The party’s stand on the entire process of delimitation was very clear. At Boateng in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Abdullah said the whole process was a fanfare to cover up the vague agenda of the work, where he had gone to offer condolences to the bereaved family of a party leader. However, no hooliganism will be able to save the BJP and its supporters from the wrath of the people. The people of J&K have made it a point to punish the BJP and its representatives for all they have done to J&K. No matter how many false fronts they put up, people will not forgive those who have looted the unique status, priceless historical personality and dignity of this region. The writing is on the wall, he said.
Abdullah, who is also a Member of Parliament from Srinagar, claimed that there is an atmosphere of anger against the BJP and its supporters in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Every sector of our economy is bleeding. Our youth are at crossroads, our traders are facing unprecedented circumstances. The plight of our tourism players, transporters and artisans is no different. He said that inflation, unemployment and development deficit have greatly increased the concerns of our people.
