Smriti Irani relishes variety of South Indian cuisine at Madras Cafe in Mumbai

South Indian food is absolutely scrumptious and we cannot get enough of it. Agreed? Be it the crispy golden dosa with spicy potato filling or the fluffy white idli, each dish is worth eating. The piping hot sambar and white coconut chutney add to the experience every time we taste the uttapams loaded with a variety of vegetables. well it’s delicious south indian cuisine might actually compel us to binge eat all of them. And, we have a feeling that even Union Minister Smriti Irani couldn’t stop herself from relishing the variety of food when she visited a South Indian restaurant. In her Instagram Stories, Smriti Irani shared a glimpse of her foodie adventure at Cafe Madras in Matunga, Mumbai. From dosa and idli to bhaji and coffee, the minister ate everything and made the most of the occasion.

He first shared a picture of a plate of idli podi and wrote, “Idli podi at Madras Matunga Cafe…abhi toh pari suru hui hai.”

Then it was time for some spicy looking rasam vada, which the minister described as his “old friend”. Mangalore Bhaji was also on the menu and Smriti Irani made sure to enjoy her plate too.

Of course, one cannot skip the mandatory dosa and neither did the minister. He had Benne Masala Dosa with sambar and coconut chutney. This was followed by upma podi on which some gunpowder was poured.

Some Dahi Misal was also on the list but we think it was very tasty as Smriti Irani finished it before clicking the picture. A satisfying cup of authentic South Indian filter coffee is how Smriti Irani ended her meal. He wrote, “Kaapi…usually works like an alarm..today’s Digestive.”

Well, just a day back Smriti Irani introduced the co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates with Millet Porridge (porridge) and taught him to temper.
