Snow forecast in these states, drop in temperature in North India next week

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall is likely over the western Himalayan region for the next few days. The weather office has also predicted that the temperature is likely to drop by a few degrees in the North Indian states.

Meanwhile, many southern states will receive heavy rainfall on Sunday, after which the rainfall activity is likely to subside. Check out the full forecast here:

Rain/Snow Warning:

  • Light to moderate rain/snowfall with thunder and lightning is very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 13th and 14th November.
  • Light rain has been predicted in Haryana and West Rajasthan on November 14
  • There is no significant change in the minimum temperature over most parts of northwest India during next 48 hours, but thereafter there is a possibility of a drop of 2-3 degree Celsius in the minimum temperature.
  • Minimum temperature to drop by 2-4°C over many parts of central India during next 5 days.

Heavy rain warning:

  • Widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep on 13 November followed by a significant reduction in rainfall activity over the region.

Wind Alert:

  • November 13: Strong weather (wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) has been predicted over Lakshadweep area, Maldives-Comorin area, Kerala coast and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
  • 14 November: Strong Wind (wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) very likely over Lakshadweep area and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
  • Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls has been predicted over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 15th and 16th November
  • Strong weather (wind speed 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) over south Andaman Sea & adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal on 16 November and over southwest & adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal on 17 November 2022 likely to prevail. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea. these areas.
