Soap maker Medimix appoints Anupam Katheria as CEO

New Delhi: Medimix soap maker Cholayil Pvt Ltd on Tuesday announced the appointment of Anupam Katheria as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company. Katheria comes with over two decades of experience in the consumer goods industry and has worked in packaged consumer goods companies such as Heinz, Nestle and Emami.

Based in Kerala-based Cholayil, Katheria will lead the company’s growth and diversification plans across its portfolio of brands.

Cholayil Pvt sells brands like Medimix Soap, Katikura Talcum Power, Krishna Thulasi among others. Apart from soaps, the company is present in several categories including face wash, body wash, body lotion, talc and deodorant.

The purpose of appointment of Katheria is to achieve 1,000 crore in turnover in the next four to five years.

Katheria will help the company enhance its omni-channel brand presence.

“We aspire to achieve a 1,000 crore turnover in the near term for which we are investing in our brand, people, processes and infrastructure. Anupam will enable growth by identifying the right funding sources and leading the business transformation,” said Cholayil.

Katheria is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and Delhi College of Engineering.

“Cholayil has a strong equity and base in ayurvedic and natural products and has the potential to expand as we grow our offerings and reach out to newer segments,” said Katheria.

Cholayil’s products are sold in over 35 countries. The company has a manufacturing joint venture in Kenya.
