Sobhita Dhulipala will soon be making her Hollywood debut with The Monkey Man. The actress will be sharing screen space with Dev Patel for the same.

Sobhita Dhulipala has come a long way in showbiz with rich content-driven and commercial films. The actress is now set to make her Hollywood debut in Dev Patel’s upcoming film, ‘The Monkey Man.’ At a recent event, the actress looked back at her remarkable journey in the Indian film industry and also revealed how she bagged her debut film, Raman Raghav 2.0.

At the recently held Ideas of India Summit 3.0, Sobhita spoke to ABP News and revealed that she got her first film audition when there were two months left in her three-year deadline.

She shared, “I had always been a classical dancer. So creative expression was a part of my life. I just didn’t know that acting could also be it; it just didn’t strike me because I think we were conditioned to think of finding a job that gives me security, like academics, and then finding work that gives me financial security. So doing something in the creative field was a bit off-the-shelf. But I gave myself three years, and I auditioned. I must have done 1,000 auditions in my life.”

“I ended up getting that part of the audition. It’s for a film called Raman Raghav. That left a huge impression on me. I went to the Cannes Film Festival. I was nominated for my performance. I was just really a kid figuring out the way, so it left a very positive influence on me. That film and that nomination. So from that point on, I thought, I’d love to get the opportunity to do something that has scope for performance,” she said.

The actress also opened up about her path to becoming a self-made actor. The actor recalled the time when she stayed away from social circles and her journey to becoming a known face in the entertainment industry and said, “I was not connected to the film world. My only entry point was through auditions. And after my senior year, I was modelling for a bit. As a model, you also do auditions for ads.”

On the work front, Sobhita is set to mesmerize audiences in the upcoming film Monkey Man alongside actors such as Dev Patel, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, and others. The movie follows the story of a young man who embarks on a relentless journey of revenge against corrupt leaders responsible for his mother’s murder, as well as those who continue to exploit and oppress the marginalized in society. The film is scheduled for release on April 25.
