Soren not concerned about welfare of tribals, only interested in ‘making money’: Marandi

The Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand has nothing to do with the welfare of tribals, and was acting with the sole intention of “making money”, former BJP chief minister Babulal Marandi alleged on Saturday.

Marandi, who led a rally in Teesri block of Giridih district, said law and order is deteriorating in the state while development works are at a standstill.

Marandi alleged, “The Hemant Soren-led UPA government has nothing to do with the poor and tribals as it is working with the sole intention of earning money.”

The statement comes a day after Soren’s government passed a bill in the state assembly, proposing to use 1932 land records to fix domicile status to consolidate its support base among tribals. Is.

A bill to increase the total reservation in government jobs to STs, SCs, EBCs, OBCs and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) from 60 per cent to 77 per cent was also passed in the Assembly.

Marandi alleged that cases of murder, rape and robbery have increased manifold under the Soren government.

He said that the people of Jharkhand were facing the shortage of sand but the government could not auction a single sand ghat in the last three years.

He said, ‘I told the government that if it is not able to auction, then it should make the sand ghats free of cost to the people of the state. But, he (Soren) will not do that as he has engaged the police to make money from tractors and trucks transporting sand,” alleged the senior BJP leader.

Marandi’s rally was part of a week-long protest program by the BJP against the JMM-led ruling coalition, which began on November 7 and will continue till November 13.

Similar rallies were also held during the day in Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Gumla, Seraikela-Kharsawan and other districts.

BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu and MLA Bhanu Pratap Sahi took part in the rally in Ranchi’s Ormanjhi block.

BJP MLA Manish Jaiswal led the rally in Katkamsandi block of Hazaribagh.
