South Africa vs India 3rd ODI | Indian bowlers dismissed Proteas after de Kock’s century

India have made four changes with the inclusion of Suryakumar Yadav, Jayant Yadav, Deepak Chahar and the famous Krishna in the playing XI.

India bundled out South Africa for 287 after opener Quinton de Kock’s attacking century and Rassie van der Dussen hit 52 in the third and final ODI in Cape Town on Sunday.

De Kock hit 124 off 130 balls and added 144 runs for the fourth wicket with van der Dussen before India put the brakes on the home team’s score by sending both the batsmen back early. The home team has already taken a 2-0 win lead in the series.

After that, David Miller contributed 39 runs off 38 balls with a ball to spare before the end of the innings.

With his sixth ODI century, de Kock equaled AB de Villiers’ record for most centuries against India by South Africa.

KL Rahul’s decision to bowl first worked straight away as Deepak Chahar (2/53) dismissed opener Janaman Malan (1) for just eight runs at the start of the third over.

It was a big wicket for the Indians as Malan entered the final ODI on a clean knock of 91 runs in the Proteas’ series-winning second ODI win at Paarl.

And the credit should go to Chahar, who got his full delivery to go away, leaving Malan unnoticed, engaging him.

India captain KL Rahul’s direct hit from mid-off ended his in-form counterpart Temba Bavuma’s brief stay in the middle as the batsman failed to reach the non-striker’s end in time.

Bavuma returned to the dressing room for an eight, it was another big break for India as the South Africa skipper scored a century in the opening match and looked solid in the second outing as well.

Taking two wickets in the powerplay, India were headed in the right direction when Aiden Markram’s effort failed to clear substitute fielder Ruturaj Gaikwad into the deep square leg area, leaving the hosts 70 for three in the 13th over. Run scored.

However, the duo of de Kock and van der Dussen put together an excellent partnership, careful with aggression to thwart the Indian bowling attack.

De Kock went into the 90s with two boundaries and then smashed a flat-bat six straight off the head of the famous Krishna (3/59).

But he was briefly stuck on 99 before reaching three-figure for Shreyas Iyer with two runs to the left of sweeper cover.

Van der Dussen conceded four runs to Yuzvendra Chahal through mid-wicket as the duo carried on with their huge strokes on all sides of the wicket.

But when it seemed that both the batsmen were snatching the game from India, the spectators got rid of both.

De Kock Jasprit Bumrah (2/52) was dismissed short ball, allowing Shikhar Dhawan to take a simple catch at deep square leg, and then, Chahal brilliantly caught van der Dussen in the deep by Iyer.
