Soy X Neung Roi . Experience the 7 Wonders of Asia in

While Chinese or Indo-Chinese is the ultimate Asian comfort food for many, the popularity of Pan Asian cuisine in our country has grown in recent years. Pan Asian flavors from Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Korea are coming to the capital more vibrant than ever, turning staples for millennia. We now have sushi, ramen, bibimbap, pad thai, som tam, nasi goreng, and more on our go-to menus. Recently, I had the pleasure of tasting some exotic Asian cuisine at Soya X Neung Roi in Radisson Blu Plaza. The restaurant is offering seven Asian cuisines straight on your plates with the ‘7 Wonders of Asia’ food festival.

‘Elegant and luxurious’ came to my mind when I was greeted with a glass of sparkling wine while stepping inside the Soy X Neung Roi restaurant. The gray interior and yellow lighting complete the overall luxurious ambiance of the restaurant. I spent a minute or two admiring the huge, lantern-like light that fell from the ceiling through the air. Then, my gaze turned to the hustle and bustle of the cooks in the open kitchen, making me more hopeful about my awaited culinary journey.

The festival ‘7 Wonders of Asia’ brings out the flavor and essence of the Far East. The menu features a wide range of authentic dishes from 7 Asian countries – Thailand, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. I started my gastronomic evening with ‘Turnip Cake’. Contrary to the name, turnip cake does not contain turnips. It is a savory Chinese dish made with radishes, charred peppers, garlic, green onions and sprouts. Vegetarians will absolutely love this tender breakfast. Chicken lovers must relish the ‘Korean Fried Chicken’ with Gochujang Sauce. With the right mix of sweet and spicy, this Korean snack gets a big thumbs up. Next, I tried the ‘Chicken Disum’ made with crystal chicken, roasted peppers and pine nuts. With a soft wrap and crunchy fillings, this dumpling was an absolute delight. If chicken is not your thing, you can also try ‘Kale and Water Chestnut Dumpling’. If that wasn’t enough, ‘Raw Mango Salad with Cashews’ is another vegetarian option. With the perfect balance of flavor and texture, this salad is a must try.

Next in the lineup were two types of sushi – the ‘spider roll and the California roll’. Since the rolls were bite-sized and quite delicious, I easily ate 2-3 pieces in under a minute. If you’re a seafood lover, try a spider roll made from soft shell crab tempura. Vegetarians can try the California Roll made with avocado, cucumber and Sriracha. Another must try for hard-core non-veg lovers is ‘Pork Belly Yakitori’. It is a popular Japanese skewer dish consisting of meats and vegetables coated with a sweet sauce.

To further enhance the Pan Asian flavour, there are other dishes like ‘Singa Pura Chilli Soft Shell Crab’, ‘Mixed Veg in Thai Green Curry’, ‘Braised Tofu in Broad Bean Sauce’, ‘Jasmine Rice, Chicken with Bullet Chili’. White Onion’, ‘Lemon Grass Creme Brulee’ and more, are offered on the menu. So, indulge your taste buds with authentic Pan Asian cuisine at 7 Wonders of Asia by Soya X Neung Roi at Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport from 27th May to 12th June 2022.
