SpaceX: World’s largest private communications satellite to be launched tomorrow

Billionaire Elon Musk’s space exploration company SpaceX is poised to launch the world’s largest commercial communications satellite tomorrow. A Falcon Heavy rocket will launch Maxar Technologies’ largest ever satellite called Jupiter 3, according to Space.com. Approximately eight minutes after launch, Falcon Heavy’s side boosters will return to Earth and land on Landing Zones 1 and 2.

Earlier, the launch was scheduled to take place on 26 July. However, SpaceX said tha, “Standing down from tonight’s Falcon Heavy launch of the Hughes Connects’ JUPITER 3 mission due to a violation of abort criteria. Teams are resetting for a launch attempt tomorrow, July 27″. The vehicle and payload are in good health, it added.

In a tweet, SpaceX said, “Falcon Heavy is vertical at Launch Complex 39A ahead of tonight’s launch. The 99-minute window opens at 11.04 pm ET, and weather is 85% favourable for liftoff.”
