Rishabh Pant is one of the most exciting cricketers in world cricket. Swashbuckling, in-your-face and fearless. These are the characteristics that describe the DC Skipper.

If we talk about Test cricket, Pant has been one of the most valuable Indian batsmen for some time now. He comes in, turns the game on its head, and leaves. He played some of the best innings in his short career so far and is still one of the most important members of the Indian Test team.

Ironically, it has been a different matter for him in the shortest format of the game. He has not been able to deliver impressive performances and has not really been able to justify his stature in T20 cricket.

Veteran Indian player and former selection committee chief Chandu Borde in an exclusive interview with India TV emphasized on why Pant could not churn out the kind of performance that was expected of him.

“Look what happens in Test cricket, you have time. But in T20 cricket, you have to chase almost every ball, and the way he plays cross-bats and sweep shots, he puts himself at greater risk. But, he should control himself and play according to the situation of the match. He should understand the game and apply his shots based on that.”

When asked if such performances are putting Pant’s place in danger? Dinesh Karthik Brainstorming, Borde said he doesn’t think anyone is competing with Rishabh Pant. He also mentioned that he is an automatic choice and would certainly be included in the eleven considering his match-changing abilities at any stage of the game.

“It is great competition within the team. Anyone who performs will be part of the team. Honestly, I don’t think there is any competition for Rishabh Pant. He is an automatic choice and will continue to be an important part of the team.” Rishabh Pant is someone who can change the pace of the game in no time, and he is not just a finisher – he can play anywhere and anytime,” Borde said.

Borde also said that what Pant has achieved in such a short span of time is unbelievable.

Chandu Borde said, “If you look at the duration of Rishabh Pant’s career, he has just started, but the way he has won matches for India is unbelievable. Over time, as he learns more His performance will reach new heights.”

Rishabh Pant will next be seen in action against Pakistan on August 28.
