Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Friday stayed the winding up order of SpiceJet for three weeks as the airline claimed it was looking to settle a dispute with Swiss company ‘Credit Suisse’ over its outstanding dues. .

To this the bench cautioned SpiceJet and said that if it does not want to clear its dues to Credit Suisse and others, it will be declared insolvent.

“You want to run airlines or shut it down? Why don’t you state your financial position? This way you can’t run your airlines. What is your contribution? It’s a serious matter, if they (SpiceJet) don’t Want to run airlines, we will declare bankruptcy and go for liquidation,” the CJI told Salve.
