Sri Lankan minister calls on Kannababu

Sathasivam Viyalendiran appreciated the government’s agriculture policy and the priority being given to farmers through welfare schemes

Sri Lanka’s Minister for Development of Backward Rural Areas and Promotion of Domestic Animal Husbandry and Small Economic Crop Farming, Sathasivam Viyalendiran on Friday called on Agriculture Minister K. Kannababu and discussed common issues.

Mr. Kannababu told them about the efforts of the government towards value addition of the farmers’ produce to increase the revenue to the farmers.

Mr. Viyalendiran appreciated the priority being given to the farmers through the agricultural policy and welfare schemes of the Government and expressed his desire to import Chilli, Turmeric, Sugarcane and Paddy crops grown in Andhra Pradesh.

He said that the representatives of the Sri Lankan government would soon meet the Chief Minister and finalize their future course of action in this regard.
