Starbucks charged a couple more than Rs 3 lakh for 2 coffees. here’s what happened next

The high prices of some of the top coffee shops have always been in question. While many people do not find the beverages worth their price, a large section of the society is totally in love with it. However, an Oklahoma couple claimed they were charged much more than usual for a regular coffee order. The couple paid over $4,000 (roughly Rs. 3,30,192) at a local Starbucks drive-thru for just two cups of coffee. And, usually, their order costs around $10 (roughly Rs. 825).
According to a report by WSMV4, Jesse and DD O’Dell were hit with a bill of $4,456.27 (roughly Rs. 3,67,847) on January 7. But, the couple was totally unaware about it. A few days later, when didi was at the mall with her kids and tried to make a purchase using the same card, it was declined. The couple then learned that Starbucks had charged them a hefty price for their coffee order.

Jesse reveals that despite calling the coffeehouse chain’s customer service several times, he has not received his money back. Jesse said, “We contacted their (Starbucks) customer service helpline maybe 30 to 40 times that day. We got a call from a representative who said they were sending out new checks. But as of today, we haven’t received the checks yet.” Are.” The couple also filed a report with the Tulsa Police Department.
The situation got so bad that the couple were forced to cancel their scheduled family vacation. “We had planned to take a trip but had to cancel and the tickets are non-refundable. It’s something that has caused pressure in our family and hopefully others don’t have to go through something like this,” Jess was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Starbucks has attributed the incident to possible human error, the report said. As per the latest update, the company has handed over the compensation amount to the couple in two separate cheques.
