Stay away from protests that hurt Punjab: CM Amarinder Singh appeals to farmers Chandigarh News – Times of India

Jalandhar: Punjab Chief Minister amarinder Singh on Monday appealed to the representatives of various farmer unions not to protest against the three central Farm law in the state, instead he urged them to protest in Delhi or Haryana farmers from other states.
Capt Amarinder Singh also reminded them that the Punjab Government had always supported him and his movement.
Farmers are trying to stop people. Punjab is one such state which has supported the farmers and their movement. Had Punjab stopped them? singhu And the tikri is not that big. Earlier in the day, he also laid the foundation stone of Agriculture College of PAU at Balowal Saunkhri near Balachaur in Nawashar district.

“This is your own Punjab, please don’t spoil things here. Those protesting in Delhi and Haryana keep doing the same. You do there, why should you do this in Punjab? Punjab needs development and I hope they will agree with me and will not allow anything wrong to happen here. This is really hurting Punjab. Why should Punjab’s economy suffer? I hope they agree with me.”
The chief minister clarified that “instead of protesting in the state, farmers should pressurize the Center to repeal agricultural laws”.
Amarinder said agricultural laws have already been rejected in the state assembly and the state government’s agricultural laws have been changed which were sent for the assent of the governor. Referring to the recent hike in sugarcane prices, the CM said, “But the governor is sitting on these… Whatever was within the ambit of my government, was done by us immediately.” “Farmer leaders demanded that they should get Rs 360 cane price and I immediately agreed to it,” he said.

He said that the Constitution of India has been amended 127 times since its implementation in 1950. “Why can’t it be amended for the 128th time so that the protesting farmers can be satisfied,” Amarinder said.
CM targets Akali Dal regarding agricultural laws
The chief minister accused the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) of duplicity on agricultural laws. He was initially supported by the party, with Harsimrat Kaur Badal as the Union minister. Even former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had issued a video statement to support them. However, he changed his tune soon after strong protests from farmers, claimed Amarinder. “Hun bhajje firde ne (now they are running here and there),” he said.
College named after Ambedkar
Chabbewal MLA Dr Raj Kumar praised the Chief Minister and said that the Captain should become CM again in 2022. On the demand of the MLA, the CM also announced that the upcoming college would be named after Dr BR Ambedkar.
