Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss, ‘Ellen’ Show’s Dancing DJ, Dies at 40

Stephen “Twitch” Boss, longtime and beloved dance DJ the ellen degeneres show and a former contestant so you think you can danceDied at the age of 40.

His death was confirmed by his wife Allison Holker Boss in a statement published on Wednesday. people.com.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I have to inform that my husband Stephen has left us,” she said. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else, and leading with love and light meant everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father and an inspiration to his fans.

His statement did not include any details on the cause of his death. However, a report in TMZ states that he was found in his hotel room with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

tWitch began her tenure on Ellen’s show in 2014 and was later promoted to co-executive producer in 2020. The show ended earlier this year. He also finished as the runner-up so you think you can dance, Also appeared in films like Dancer-DJ Step Up: All In And Magic Mike XXL, His love of dance permeated all aspects of his life as he aspired to emulate such greats as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire.

“My personal opinion: The greatest man of all time should have been Gene Kelly. Gene Kelly, because he’s a boy of boys. I love Fred Astaire, but Fred Astaire was very comfortable, and it was great. He was very was classy,” Boss said in an interview The Associated Press in 2014. “But Gene Kelly—he could be like the father of anybody who decided to get up off the couch and dance around and clean up the kitchen.” Boss posted dance videos on TikTok with his wife, who is also a professional dancer, with their children making guest appearances.

The news of Boss’s death was first reported by TMZ. He is survived by his wife and three children.
