Stocks to watch: Titan, Bharti Airtel, Reliance, Equitas SFB, Power Grid

Titan: The Tata group firm said its sales in the April-June quarter grew nearly three times on a year-on-year basis, helped by a lower base from the Covid-19-affected quarter last year. “Sales in Q1FY23 grew 205 per cent year-on-year on a low basis and witnessed a 3-year CAGR of 20.5% as compared to Q1FY20,” it said.

Bharti Airtel: Arm Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) BV, which manages Airtel’s Africa business, has extended a tender offer to buy back up to $450 million (approx.). 3,550 crore) senior notes. The company had issued a tender offer for the purchase of $300 million worth of its 5.35% guaranteed senior notes for $1 billion due 2024. The offer started on June 21 and will end on July 19.

Reliance Industries: The company’s retail arm Reliance Retail has signed a long-term franchise agreement with American apparel major Gap Inc. This partnership will mark the return of Gap in India with its casual wear apparel brand.

Equitas Small Finance Bank: The lender said its gross advances increased by 22% from a year ago 21,699 crore till June 30. Bank’s disbursements up 156% during Q1 FY23 3,238 crore as against 1,265 crores. Total deposits up 19% year-on-year 20,386 crores.

Power Grid Corporation: The board of the state-owned company has approved two proposals to increase 11,000 crore through issuance of bonds and term loans. The board approved the proposal to raise funds till 6,000 crore from the domestic market through 20 tranches of secured/unsecured, non-convertible, non-cumulative/cumulative, redeemable, taxable/tax-free debentures/bonds during the financial year 2023-24.

NTPC/Gujarat Alkalis & Chemicals: State-owned power giant NTPC RE Limited and Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals entered into an agreement to collaborate for the synthesis of renewable energy and green chemicals.

Deep Industries: The company has received award letter from ONGC LimitedTo hire charter of two 1000 HP Mobile Drilling Rigs for a period of three years for Ahmedabad property. The total estimated value of the prizes is approx. 150.24 crores.

Nykaa Fashion: FSN E-CommerceVentures, the Nykaa-owned company has announced the launch of its underwear and athleisure brand for men, Gloot. The company said Glut products are made from a special fiber that enables them to have an 83% lower carbon footprint than typical comparable fibers.

TVS Motor Company: The company has launched Ronin, a 225-cc bike in the premium lifestyle segment, priced at Rs. Is 1.49 lakhs, ex-showroom. The bike comes in three trims tagged with 1.49 lakh, 1.56 lakh more 1.69 lakhs respectively. The company plans to sell around one lakh units of this model in the current financial year.

IndusInd Bank: The bank has tied up with MoEngage, an insight-based customer engagement platform, to provide a differentiated digital experience across multiple customer journeys. As part of the partnership, IndusInd Bank will leverage MoEngage’s technology platform to offer a ‘Gen Z’ digital banking experience to its customers.
