Stone placed for government polytechnic in EG

Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ch. Venu Gopal Krishna laid the foundation stone of a government polytechnic at Narasaraopeta village in Ramachandrapuram assembly constituency of the district on Sunday.

Addressing the villagers after performing Bhoomi Puja, Shri Venu Gopal Krishna said that the State Government is committed to construct a polytechnic at a cost of Rs.8 crore to provide better access to technical education to the students in rural areas.

He said the nearest government polytechnic was in Kakinada, more than 30 km from Ramachandrapuram.

“Construction of college buildings will continue despite some technical and other constraints. The college will attract students from Konaseema region and Ramachandrapuram assembly constituency,” he said.

The minister promised to develop a beautiful campus and took information about the design of the building from the officials concerned.
