Subhash Ghai on Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt’s wedding: Played dholak in Rishi-Neetu’s wedding, now my blessings are with Ranbir-Alia – Exclusive! – times of India

Subhash Ghai was one of the closest friends of Rishi Kapoor and one of the chief guests at the sage’s wedding Neetu Kapoor back in 1980. With Ranbir Kapoor And with things Bhatt’s wedding celebration just around the corner, Subhash Ghai talks to ETimes about his memories and his blessings from Rishi-Neetu’s wedding Ranbir and Aaliyah. Part:

Rishi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor And Jackie Shroff got married while working in my films

You see, three of the leading men have been married during the shooting of my films. Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) got married during the shooting of Karz. Anil (Kapoor) got married during the shooting of Meri Jung. And when we were making Hero, Jackie (Shroff) got married. Sweet coincidence.

RK Weddings has the best of food, drink and music

Chintu and Neetu got married in ‘RK’ style. RK Style’s wedding was a big affair with warmth, affection and love from all. Raj Kapoor sahib used to treat the film industry like a family. Rishi and Neetu have been my favorite couple and a part of our family.

Kapoors are very hot people. These are the people who are above the math of the film business. The entire family, including Raj Saheb’s wife, had great affection for us. RK Weddings have the best of food, drink and music and everyone participates. When I played the dholak in Rishi and Neetu’s wedding, Raj Sahab was very happy.

My blessings are on Ranbir and Alia

I was very close to Rishi and Neetu and I am very happy for Ranbir and Alia. At that time, we were all young friends – Chintu, Dabboo (Randhir Kapoor) and Chimpu (Rajeev Kapoor). Generations have changed but I am sure Ranbir too has his friends in the fraternity. Neetu is one of the best women in our industry, very sweet and affectionate. She has brought up her children very well. I had shot for a film ‘Pyaar Ki Ganga Bahe’ with Rishi and Ranbir in 1991. At that time Ranbir was 8 or 10 years old. As an uncle, I have full blessings on Ranbir and Alia.
