Suicide bomber is planning a terrorist attack in India, detained in Russia

Moscow: The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Monday that its officials have detained a suicide bomber, a member of the Islamic State terrorist group, who was plotting a terrorist attack against India’s leadership elite, Russian reported the news agency Sputnik.

“The FSB of Russia has identified and detained a member of the Islamic State international terrorist organization banned in Russia, a native of a country in the Central Asian region, who attempted to commit a terroristic act by blowing himself up against a representative was planned by the ruling circles of India,” the authority said in a statement.

The statement said one of the detained IS leaders had admitted to being a suicide bomber in Turkey. Islamic State and all its manifestations have been notified as terrorist organization and included in the First Schedule to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 by the Central Government.

According to the Home Ministry, IS is using various internet-based social media platforms to propagate its ideology. In this regard, the cyberspace is being closely monitored by the agencies concerned and action is being taken as per law.
