“After two decades the wait is finally over! Presenting to you the motion poster of #Gadar2 on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. The narrative continues…,” wrote Deol. Deol will once again work with filmmaker Anil Sharma and actor Ameesha Patel for the new film.

The original film received an overwhelming response when it released on June 15, 2001.

The partition-set drama, written by Shaktimaan and directed by Sharma, follows the story of Tara Singh (Deol), a Sikh, who falls in love with Sakina (Patel), a Pakistani Muslim girl.

Deol had on Thursday shared a teaser poster with numbers ‘2’ and ‘The Katha Continues…’ written on it, indicating that the new film is a follow-up to “Gadar”.

Actor Utkarsh Sharma, who plays Deol’s son and Patel, is also returning for the sequel.

Produced by Zee Studios and Anil Sharma Productions, ‘Gadar 2’ will go on floors soon.
