Surat students make rickshaw pulling robot

A group of four students from Surat have created a robot that can walk like humans and even pull a rickshaw. According to PTI, he spent 25 days and around Rs 30,000 to make the robot. The news agency has also released a video of the robot in action.

It is powered by a battery which can be recharged from time to time. The students who developed the robot intend to add more functionality to it so that it can be used more widely, even if its upper part is only a design element.

Maurya Shivam, one of the students, told PTI, “The robot you are seeing is not my first attempt, I have already worked on many other robots which are used for different purposes in different fields.” The robot you see here is designed after a deep study of humans, focusing on their feet, specifically the way they walk – based on that “

Mr. Shivam said that its running on the road has been successfully tested. “This is our prototype which we have road tested. And it is not complete yet, its legs, arms, head and face are still to be worked on. We have tried to make it look like a normal Man walks.” ,” He continued.

In February, a tech geek in Karnataka developed a humanoid robot named ‘Shiksha’ that can teach children up to class four. However, the model has not been officially deployed anywhere.

Its developer Akshay Mashelkar, a post-graduate in physics with specialization in electronics, said ‘Shiksha’ could be a useful learning tool for students up to class four.

Mr Mashelkar, from Sirsi, has a B.Ed degree, and says the idea to develop ‘Shiksha’ struck him during the Covid-induced lockdown when students were glued to mobile phones or computers for online lessons.

Mashelkar told PTI, “People wanted an interactive tool instead of taking online lessons in a boring way with no fun involved. Fun in learning makes the classroom alive and learning the lessons becomes easier. This is why That I thought of this robot.”
