Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a review meeting on Friday amid rising cases of coronavirus and advised the states to be alert and vigilant. Prepared for COVID-19 Management, In a meeting held virtually with State Health Ministers and Principal and Additional Chief Secretaries, Shri Mandaviya highlighted the importance of emergency hotspot identification, testing and testing by monitoring cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infection (SARI). Emphasized on expediting vaccination. and ensuring preparedness of hospital infrastructure.

Along with scaling up genome sequencing and whole genome sequencing of positive samples, he also stressed on creating awareness on how to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour.

Shri Mandaviya said that the Center and the States need to continue working in a collaborative spirit, as was done last time during the prevention and management of COVID-19.

He also urged the state health ministers to conduct a mock drill of the infrastructure of all hospitals on April 10 and 11 and review health preparedness with the district administration and health officials on April 8 and 9.
