Survey of 7.11 lakh citizens in 54 wards

The door-to-door health survey, ‘Palike Vaidyuru Nimma Mane Bagilige’, launched by the BBMP three weeks ago, has covered 2.48 lakh households and 7.11 lakh individuals.

Revenue Minister R. Ashok told reporters on Monday that the BBMP has achieved almost 90% of the target. Under the first phase, this initiative has been taken in 54 wards of the city and it will be expanded to the remaining 144 wards in a month.

The survey showed that 22,313 persons had previously had COVID-19, while 57,528 (8%) had comorbidities.

While 50.86% had diabetes, 35.82% had hypertension, 2.99% had hypothyroidism and 2.48% had ischemic heart disease, the top four types found in the surveyed population. Had comrade conditions.

Of those surveyed, around 4.39 lakh had received at least one dose of the vaccine and 1.67 lakh had received both doses.

According to Mr. Ashoka, some areas like Bommanahalli and Dasarahalli had exceeded the set target. In the two areas, on an average, the civic party was covering 2,124 houses (Bommanahalli) and 1,950 (Dasarahalli) in a day.

Under the programme, each team has been given a target to survey at least 50 households daily, while each ward will have five doctors.

If a person is found to be infected with COVID-19, the team will assess their condition and recommend home isolation, or admit them to COVID-19 Care Centers (CCCs) or hospitals.
