Vikas Kumar, who plays ACP Khan in Sushmita Sen’s Aarya, says the upcoming season will be ‘faster’ and ‘more eventful’.
Sushmita Sen’s Arya is one of the most loved web series. While fans are eagerly waiting for season three of the Emmy-nominated show, Vikas Kumar – who plays ACP Khan in Disney+ hotstar The show, has exclusively informed News18 Shosha that the team is likely to resume shooting in Jaipur “very soon”. The shoot was halted earlier this year after Sushmita Sen suffered a heart attack.
“A big part of Season 3 has happened. This show is Rajasthan based. There are some outdoor scenes which we have to shoot in Jaipur. We got down there, but unfortunately Sushmita Sen had a heart attack. We didn’t know about it before. Eventually in a few days, we got to know as he revealed it to the world,” Vikas told us.
When asked whether the co-stars were not informed about Sushmita’s heart attack, Kumar explained that it was because initially even the actress herself was not aware of it. “Initially, he didn’t even know what happened. Tested and all. He came to know about it later and then he told the world. That’s how we found out. We shot for just one day and then we realized that we cannot go ahead. By then it was clear that this was not just a matter of a day or two, but that we needed to stay. So we stopped for a bit,” he said.
Vikas further added that he too was worried when he came to know about Sushmita’s health and added, “When he finally came to know that it was a heart attack, he shared it on Instagram. Till then none of us actors knew about it. That’s how it should be because otherwise, it becomes noise. She didn’t want that. She herself wanted to tell the world. We are just glad that she is doing much better now.”
Vikas had messaged Sushmita just hours before announcing the news of his heart attack on social media. “Incidentally, I didn’t know but in the second part of the day she came live on social media and in the first part I messaged her saying, ‘Hey, I hope you are doing well. We are waiting for you. Strong Come back. Get your claws out’. There was a little Arya-Khan exchange. She quickly replied, ‘Khan sahib, as soon as possible. I’ll be back’. But I didn’t know (after she had a heart attack). about). A few hours later she shared it on Instagram. Then I came to know about it,” said Vikas. He further shared that Sushmita is currently ‘exercising’ and is looking forward to shooting for ‘Arya 3’ again.
Sharing an update on Aarya 3, Vikas Kumar revealed that more than 50 per cent of the show has already been shot and what is left are just the exterior sequences in Jaipur. When asked about ACP Khan’s character, Kumar said, “I will not spare him (Arya). In season two, ACP Khan took a bit of a backseat in this matter, he was just laying down a bit” and added, “In season 3, we say, he’s a bit more out there now. more active. Not taking a backseat.”
Further teasing about the Ram Madhvani-directed season 3, Kumar assured that it would be ‘racier’ and ‘more exciting’ than the previous seasons. “It’s faster. There are more adventures. It’s a lot more eventful,” he shared.
When asked about its release, Vikas said, ‘I don’t know. Hotstar would know. I think, they would like to come out with it as soon as possible. We’ll be back very soon and film it.”
