A delegation of Swedish business and industry representatives led by the country’s Ambassador Jan Thesleff met IT and Industry Minister KT Rama Rao here on Wednesday.
During their meeting at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, the minister highlighted how Telangana has emerged as the best investment destination in India. He also assured full support to Swedish companies desirous of investing in the state.
Mr Rao’s office said in a release that the minister explained the industrial policies of the Telangana government and the vast investment opportunities offered by the state. Welcoming Swedish companies, he urged them to invest in technology and manufacturing sectors in the state.
The visiting delegation appreciated the industry friendly policies of the State Government and made a special mention of the infrastructure created in the city in the last eight years. Assuring the minister that efforts would be made to bring more investments to Telangana, Mr. Thesleff said that an investment facilitation mechanism set up to work with companies looking to invest in India started working with Swedish companies Is. The Ambassador said that the Swedish Embassy regularly researches investment opportunities in Telangana and extends support to Swedish companies.
