Sweet revenge of Karnataka farmer after car showroom

The farmer was on his way to buy a Bolero pickup when a salesman allegedly asked him to leave.

A farmer in Karnataka who had gone to a showroom to buy a Bolero pick-up truck was humiliated by a salesman and said that he could hardly afford a car. The farmer took up a challenge and returned with the money in an hour, straight into a script for the films. The salesman apologized.

Videos of the incident, which took place at a Mahindra showroom in Tumakuru, Karnataka on Friday, have been shared widely and even Anand Mahindra has been flagged on Twitter.

The farmer, Kempegowda, was on his way to buy a Bolero pickup when the salesman allegedly brutalized him and asked him to leave.

The car costs Rs 10 lakh, the seller said, and “probably doesn’t even have Rs 10 in your pocket”. The farmer and his friends allege that he sacked Kempegowda because of his presence.

An argument broke out and Kempegowda challenged the salesman to arrange delivery of the SUV on the same day if he brought the money within an hour.

He returned with cash. A stunned sales executive, predictably, couldn’t manage immediate delivery – waiting lists are usually long. The delivery of his car will take no less than four days.

Enraged, Kempegowda and his friends demanded an apology and more heated words were exchanged, until the police stepped in and broke up the fight.

The sales executive finally apologized to Kempegowda. “I don’t want to buy a car from your showroom,” said the farmer, carrying his Rs 10 lakh.
