Taapsee Pannu posts note on re-release in theatres: ‘Miss the joy of making a good film under the guise of box office success’ – The Henry Club

Ahead of the release of his film Dobara in theatres, the actor Taapsee Pannu shared a note from the makers of the film – Ekta Kapoor, Sunir Khetrapal and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap – talking about the joy of making a “good film” for the theatre-going audience. He captioned it with a personal message, which read: “The immense love we are receiving from our pre-release screenings has made us realize that we are sharing the joy of making a good film under the guise of box office success. How do you remember?

“Here is a note from the makers who dared to stand by a film like #Dobara and ensured that it gets released in theatres, a film that does not undermine the intelligence of the audience. We will celebrate the fact that we can make a film when playing safe is the only option for survival, regardless of the box office outcome. We know we have made a film that we are proud of, I hope you will give us a chance 🙏🏽 #Releasing tomorrow!”

Dobara, which is the official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Mirage, has opened at the London Film Festival 2o22, and has received mixed reviews so far. Indian Express Film critic Shubhra Gupta, among them review, wrote, “Never feels like an Anurag Kashyap film again. His trajectory may have been uneven, but never, ever, has any of his films felt like his films, complete with his very own distinctive official seal. where is that AK? I want him again.”

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, ‘Dobaara’ also stars Pavail Gulati, Shashwat Chatterjee.
