Taliban: Positive move: Taliban on India-Pakistan effort to supply 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan – Times of India

We are looking forward to reaching an agreement with India and supplying wheat to Afghanistan,” said Taliban designated UN ambassador Suhail Shaheen. We also thank the Government of Pakistan for providing transportation facilities.
The Taliban had earlier also welcomed India’s offer to supply wheat to Kabul through the land border with Pakistan, saying Afghanistan was passing through a critical time. Asked about the possibility of Indian diplomats returning to Afghanistan, Shaheen had said that the Taliban is ready to welcome all diplomats and is committed to providing security for their routine diplomatic work.
The United Nations has called for $5 billion in Help For Afghanistan in 2022 to deal with the humanitarian crisis that the country is facing.
“A full-blown humanitarian disaster looms. My message is urgent: don’t shut the door for the people of Afghanistan,” said UN aid chief Martin Griffiths earlier this month.
According to the United Nations, an estimated 4.7 million people will suffer from acute malnutrition in 2022. India’s aid to Afghanistan will be provided through the United Nations World Food Programme. Calling for uninterrupted aid to Afghanistan, India has also repeatedly stressed that any aid should be distributed in a non-discriminatory manner.
