Tamil Nadu Class 12 girl found dead in hostel toilet: Police

A Class 12 student was found dead in the toilet of her hostel last night in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, police said.

He said that the police have recovered the suicide note of the girl student from the hostel room and investigation is on.

Superintendent of Police L Balaji Srinivasan told NDTV that the girl had mentioned some personal reasons in her suicide note, due to which she was upset.

“We cannot disclose the exact details. The investigation is on,” Srinivasan said.

A police officer said that 17-year-old Vaitheeswari, a resident of Tamil Nadu’s Ramanathapuram district, was “heartbroken” after the death of her aunt.

“He told another student in his school that this would be the last time you would see me alive”, he said.

The matter will be transferred to the CBCID wing of the state police following the recent order of the Madras High Court.

The High Court has ruled that deaths in educational institutions should be investigated by the state investigative body, CB-CID.

In the last few months, five class 12 students – four girls and one boy, and one class 11 student – have died by suicide in the state. medical course.

Chief Minister MK Stalin had recently appealed to the students not to fall under academic pressure. “Turn your trials into achievements” he said.

He also urged the teachers to “infuse mental strength” in the students.
