Tamil Nadu State Crime Records Bureau is all set to introduce a new electronic beat system for police personnel smart kavalari App across the state from November end.

The field policing application was developed for use by Tamil Nadu Police with the aim of leveraging technology to manage beat activities digitally and to make patrolling and field policing more efficient.

Additional Director General of Police and SCRB chief Vineet Dev Wankhede said: “It is a complete field policing app. All the work of a policeman on the field is processed. We want to complete the training process for the entire state by the end of November. Training for master trainers is going on now.

They told Hindu That mobile app will record and track the details of beat and other field policing and enables officers to monitor the work of constables in the allotted beat or area on real time basis.

Users/Beat Constables can get reports on the data recorded during the beat and other field activities. Station records such as “bad character” check lists, lookout databases and important locations can be tagged and stored on the app. The app will be available in English and Tamil.

The list of reported senior citizens under the jurisdiction of the station is maintained by the Station House Officer (SHO). A senior police officer said that the field officer can either check and record the details of a senior citizen from the existing list or enter the details of a new senior citizen and record the status.

The history sheet for the station’s jurisdiction is maintained by the SHO on the app. User can select name from drop down menu and enter current status. The records regarding a particular IMEI number can be checked in this app.

Only after pressing the start button does the field officer physically start his beat. The End Beat button is to be used at the end of the beat after completing all the tasks specified.

This module can be used to track and record the details of non-beat works performed by personnel in a station on day to day basis such as Summons/Warrants, Police Verification, Court Duty, and Hospital Duty, Tapal Service and Petition Inquiry.
