CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu on Monday reported 38 fresh Covid-19 cases, registering a slight decline from 47 a day earlier, taking the total tally to 34,54,391.
Twenty-five men and 13 women were among those who tested positive and included a passenger who had returned from the USA, said a bulletin from the state health department.
The death toll in the state stood at 38,025 as no death was recorded in the last 24 hours.
The number of positive patients discharged after treatment so far rose to 34,15,912 including 62 people who recovered from the disease on Monday, the bulletin said.
The number of active cases came down to 454 from 478 on Sunday.
Chennai reported maximum 20 new cases, followed by Chengalpattu seven and Coimbatore three, while Cuddalore, Kancheepuram, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Namakkal, Pudukottai, Tiruvallur and Chennai airport reported one case each.
