Tamil Nadu schools penalize students for non-payment of fees, government will take action against administration

Tamil Nadu Directorate of Matriculation Schools has warned schools that action will be taken against students who do not pay tuition fees if they are made to stand outside the classroom.

In a circular issued by the director, Karuppasamy, it said that students who have not paid the tuition fees are made to stand outside the classes. It said that sending them out of class just for non-payment of tuition fees and speaking badly about their parents is an act of depriving them of their right to basic education.

It is reported that students were sent out of the classroom where schools are currently open for non-payment of tuition fees. Therefore, in the interest of the education of the students, the District Inspection Officer should ensure that proper advice is given to the administration during the school inspection that no such incident should happen in any matriculation school in future.

Also, in case of any such incident, the District Primary Education Officer should take action after paying special attention. Based on this, all the primary education officers have been informed to send regular reports to the Directorate of Matriculation Schools from time to time.

Schools have reopened in Tamil Nadu for class 12 from February 1. Schools were allowed to resume physical classes following strict COVID-19 precautions. At the same time, online classes were allowed to continue.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Board had also released the datesheet for class 10 and class 12 exams. The examinations will start from May 5. SSC or Class 10 and HSC or Class 12 exams will be conducted in offline mode amid strict COVID-19 precautions. The SSC exams will be held from May 6 to 30, while the HSC exams will be held from May 5 to 28.
