The government will keep a separate fund for the expenditure in the budget. For this purpose, an elaborate selection methodology will be drawn up to pick the best teachers and officials.

Tamil Nadu Education Department is planning to take best performing teachers and officials on annual foreign trips.

This is after the state’s School Education Minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, took 68 Class 11 government school students to Dubai and Sharjah for a four-day trip. The students had performed well in the state level online quiz competition organized by the government.

Sources in the education department told IANS that the government would keep a separate fund for the expenditure in the budget. For this, a detailed selection method will be prepared for the selection of best teachers and officials.

A senior state school education department official told IANS that as far as teachers’ punctuality, attendance, new methods in teaching are concerned, which will help students perform well and enable them to be selected . The selection of officers will be done on the basis of best result while discharging their duties.

Sources in the education department told IANS that 20 teachers are likely to be included in the list, while the number of officers is yet to be decided.

The education department will set up a separate panel to select the ideal foreign destination and officials will visit these places and engage in an exchange program with institutions from those countries to share achievements with visitors to the state.
