The Tamil Nadu government on Monday said a project – Illam Thedi Kalvi (Education at the Doorstep) – is being piloted in 12 districts to bridge the learning gap created by the closure of schools during the pandemic-imposed lockdown. will be started on a project basis. of the state. The project is to be implemented for a period of six months to impart educational skills among children who have not been attending their classes since the imposition of the lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus from March 2020.

The scheme will be implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore from this financial year with the participation of teachers, volunteers, NGOs and academicians.
